2010 Open Championship

2010 Open Championship

The 2010 Open Championship will be an exciting one as the Championship will be returning to the home of golf, St Andrews in Scotland. St Andrews and the old course in particular is the home of golf and all the players love playing the Open there and 2010 will be no different, St Andrews was last used in 2005 when it was won by Tiger Woods as it was in 2000 so he will be going for a hat trick in 2010.

The defending champion for 2010 will be Stewart Cink who triumphed at Turnberry in 2009 by beating Tom Watson in a play-off in one of the great Championships of all time. Cink will be eager to put up a good show when he defends his crown at St Andrews and he will know he will have to be on top form to keep Tiger at bay as he seems to love playing at the home of golf.

The British golfers will be itching to claim the Claret Jug on home soil with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Ross Fisher, Lee Westwood and Paul Casey likely to be among the main challengers from the UK at St Andrews.
